Adult Coloring Books

I love coloring books.  Coloring reduces stress and anxiety.  It is quite relaxing!

Owl and Colorful Leaves

Before I color a page, I think about a theme that will make an image stand out. I created an autumn theme on this page. I used brown, yellow, purple, orange, fuchsia and some hint of green colors.

I used colors of nature and a pop of pink for the ladder to make this image interesting.

I use Maped and Faber Castell colored pencils. Blending is the key to achieve good results. It takes days or weeks to finish a page, but you should be patient if you want to complete one page beautifully.  It is very satisfying to see the entire image come alive from your creativity. 😀

  1. Gorgeous! I just got the “Lost Ocean” book the other evening. I’m still working on one of the patterns in my Scandinavian book, but can hardly wait to play with the new one, too. I figured I would like coloring at least a little – I didn’t realize it would become a relaxing near-addiction. 🙂

    1. True! It’s very exciting and addicting. 🙂 I don’t have the Lost Ocean yet, but I can’t wait to have that too. I wish Johanna Basford will make more coloring books. Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom coloring book is a good one too! Have fun coloring! 🙂
